Best Kids Wagon Reviews: for Your Soon-to-Be Towing Toddlers

As an amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Responsibility, above all, is what makes us reliable. When others understand that we can handle our business, with aplomb, trust sets in and we’re allowed to do more than we ever were before. At home. In the office. And even in the playroom.

That’s right, I said the playroom. Responsibility pretty much starts as soon as our babies are born. And, as long as we give them the right tools and opportunities to allow that responsibility to grow, then they’ll undoubtedly blossom into the fine young women and men that we hope they’ll eventually be.

Best Kids Wagon for Toddlers - Radio Flyer All-Terrain

And even though it might sound a bit out of this world, a wagon – yes, a wagon – can go a long way in helping your child achieve that growth – as well as provide them with the refined motor skills and adult-worthy discipline for replete maturation.

Motor Skills and Maturity: What Best Kids Wagon Can Do

Imagine this, a room full of toys, all scattered about. Letter blocks here. Stuffed animals there. You ask your little one to help clean up and what do they do? They droop they shoulders, pout their lips and whine, “Do I have to?” (Of, if they can’t yet talk, they don’t do anything at all.)

But what if cleaning up felt fun? What if it was more like a game? They might just jump at the chance to hop in and help out. And, believe it or not, a kids wagon can do just that.

A kid alone is just a kid. But a kid with a wagon is suddenly a farmer collecting his crops to take to the grocery store. Or a trash collector cleaning up the streets. And then, not only are they lending a helping hand while exercising their imaginations, but, with their wagon in tow, they’re developing their gross and fine motor skills to boot. (And, depending on which one you buy, you’ll also have something fun to carry them around in when you want to take a day trip to the park.)

The Radio Flyer All-Terrain Steel and Wood Kids Wagon

Putting a new spin on an old item, the Radio Flyer All-Terrain best kids wagon is an eye-opening upgrade from its timeless predecessor. Not only does it boast a set of wooden pickets that surround the inside like a fence for safer riding and towing, but it comes equipped with a set of large air tires that are capable of conquering all kinds of terrain.

Its body is built from stainless steel, is full-sized and comes with a compliment of no-scratch edges – which means it will hold up well under the playful pounding of your little ones and twos.

And, as far as safety is concerned, its no-pinch ball joints will keep your kiddies from injuring their little fingers and its controlled turn radius is designed to prevent any tipping, teetering or tottering.

For kids aged 1½ years or older, and can carry up to 200 pounds. Also comes with an extra-long handle that folds underneath the carriage for easy storage. Interested? Check here for the current price.

The Little Tikes Deluxe Ride & Relax with Umbrella

Talk about chill. If you live near a beach or you’re that family that spends hours in the sun, be it at the park or tailgating before a game, the Little Tikes Deluxe Ride & Relax might just be the best wagon for toddlers.

One look and you’ll undoubtedly notice the attachable umbrella – great for keeping your little ones out of the sun and free from burns – or maybe the side saddled cooler, which makes it easy to pack snacks, soda and juice boxes. Or maybe you’re safety conscious and you noticed the seat belts. Or the cup holders. Or the handle that tucks under for easy storage. (All great items.)

We could go on, but we’d rather move on and talk about the one super accessory that you can’t see. This kids wagon converts into a bench – a bench! – to be enjoyed by both kids and adults! (Talk about versatility!)

Great for ages 18 months and older. Room enough for two, up to 250 pounds. Assembly required. Available on Amazon under this link.

The Radio Flyer Ultimate Comfort Kids Wagon

Our first Radio Flyer was for all you moms and dads of hard working off-roaders. The Radio Flyer Ultimate Comfort Wagon, however, is for the mini-mes who’d rather relax and ride, with friends or on their own, whilst surrounded by versatility.

Its padded, comfortable seats shift to allow for up to five different iterations of the same wagon. Two can ride. One can ride. One can ride with cargo. One can ride with cargo and draw on a makeshift desk. Or, you can leave it empty and stuff it full of groceries or soccer balls or whatever else.
It has cup holders, a seat belt for bumpy rides, a set of extra-large Dura-Tred tires for a smooth ride, a non-tip turning axle and even a canopy for those super sunny days. Not only that, but it comes equipped with a side satchel for all those small(er) essentials.

For kids aged 1½ years or older. Can carry up to 200 pounds. Assembly required. Need recommendation on where to purchase? Here’s the product page on Amazon.

The Mac Sports Collapsible Outdoor Utility Wagon

Simple. Sleek. Folds down for easy transport. The Mac Sports Collapsible Outdoor Utility Wagon is more for adults than it is for kids. Sure it has the cup holders and the attachable shade, large wheels that rotate in the front for easy maneuvering, and even fabric formed from heavy-duty 600 denier polyester, which is all great, and incredibly useful, but it isn’t a Flyer and it doesn’t have the adornments of the Little Tikes Deluxe Ride.

Its hard flooring makes it comfortable to sit in and there’s additional storage for odds and ends. Its wheels also lock when it’s folded up for easy movement from A to B when you’re ready to go.

All in all, it’s great for all you no-frills mothers and fathers out there who want a swift, shaded ride for your little guys or gals. Where to get it from? Check out this Amazon link.

The Radio Flyer Classic Red Kids Wagon

We’ve seen the rugged. We’ve seen the relaxed. Now it’s time to take it back and nab a look at the retro.

Once upon a time, a childhood wasn’t a childhood if you didn’t own a Radio Flyer Classic. Its seamless, stainless steel body, no scratch edges, and durable 10-inch steel wheels with rubber tires are everything that made yesteryear so sweet.

Safety features include an extra-long handle for easy pulling, no-pinch ball joints and a controlled, tip-free turning radius.

Award winning best kids wagon, ideal for ages 1½ years and older. Maximum weight is 150 pounds. Some assembly is required. Here’s a direct product page and the current price.

The Step2 All-Around Canopy Kids Wagon

If you like the style and versatility of the Little Tikes Deluxe Ride but wish it was a little cheaper, then the Step2 All-Around Canopy Wagon is a worthy choice. It has an easily detachable canopy for sunny days, 6 – count em, 6! – drink/snack holders, large wheels for a smooth ride and an easy-pull handle design that tucks tightly beneath the seating area for simple storage.

Its cabin also contains a set of seat-belted seats that can flip and fold into a flatbed for carrying odds and ends or a table so that your kids can work as they ride. The pop-out storage compartment also makes it easy to pack snacks, toys and extra drinks. It’s a bit clunky but it’ll last for years.

For kids 1½ years and older. Weight limit is 75 pounds – though, admittedly, it can hold more without worry. Assembly is required. Check it out, it’s available on Amazon.

The Baby Born Lil’ Kids Wagon

Sometimes basic is just better, especially when it comes to toys for our littlest of tots. And with its thick, durable design, indoor/outdoor wheels and an easy-to-grip handle for your little one’s hands, the Baby Born Lil’ Wagon is as simple and as uncomplicated as they come.

There isn’t a canopy. No cup holders. No detachable walls or secret storage. It’s just a simple wagon that allows your little one’s imagination to run wild as they fill it with blocks, bricks and animals and roll it around the room – or across the park. (And, without all those extra adornments, your little one won’t get frustrated with the complicated mechanics when all they want to do is drag it around behind them and act like a farmer or a peddler or a mommy of three.)

This is one of the best wagons for toddlers, aged 18 months and older. Simple assembly is required. Handle folds under for easy storage. Where to purchase? One option would be Amazon,  check it here.
